Tijs Verwest (17 Ocak 1969, Breda Hollanda) dünyaca ünlü trance DJ`i. Geçmişte birçok takma isim kullanırdı, bunlardan en çok bilineni DJ Tiesto`dur. Son eserlerinde "DJ" etiketini de kaldırmasıyla kısaca Tiësto olarak bilinmeye başladı. En çok Delerium parçası Silence remiksi ve Barber`ın Adagio for Strings yorumuyla bilinir.
Ulkesi Hollanda'yi dunyaya tanitmaktaki buyuk katkilarindan dolayi Hollanda Kralicesi tarafindan sovalyelik unvanina layik gorulmustur.
Tiesto,Delerium'un Silence adlı parçasına yaptığı remiksle dünya çapında üne kavuşmuştu.Bundan sonra da pekçok başarılı parçaya imza attı.En popüler parçaları : Flight 643 , Traffic olmakla beraber en çok sevilen remikslerinden biri de Adagio For Strings'tir.
1997'de arkadaşı Arny Bink ile plak firmasını kurup;Magik Seri Albümlerini peşpeşe yayınladı.Plak firmasının ismi ise Black Hole Recordings'tir.
Tiesto canlı perfornmanslarındaki pozitif enerjisi ve dinleyicileriyle kurduğu yakın temasla sevilen ve aranılan bir DJ'dir.Hollanda ekolününün başarılı temsilcisi Tiesto,kendi vatandaşı Ferry Corsten ile Gouryella adı altında kurdukları grupta ortaklaşa yaptıkları trance müziği hayranlarına sundular.Walhalla ve Alias isimleri olan Gouryella ile büyük bi çıkış yakalayan Tijs ve Corsten ortaklığı çok uzun sürmedi.
Tiesto, DJlik temelini hardcore ve gabber ile attığı için şimdiki soundu da bu tarzların izlerini taşımaktadır.
